CINEMA SCOPE
Editorial, Visual Identity, Website
This is a redesign for Cinema Scope, a quarterly magazine that aims to highlight and expand the reach of international cinema. Cinema Scope is a magazine that is well known and respected for its sophisticated reviews and analysis of up and coming arthouse films. This new identity was designed to be in sync with its target demographic of cinephiles and create a magazine that feels intellectual, influential, and sophisticated.

The logo plays on the concept of “scope” and features letters that push and pull to fill the space. The logo can also be further activated by adding type and information in the “o” of “scope”.

Covers are minimal, but impactful, with the back covers highlighting directors that are featured in the issues and set in a way that is reminiscent of the end credits of a movie.
Issue 02 featured articles on movies that told stories that explored the often tenuous relationships between and mother and daughter.

Poster Series
A poster series composed of 3 large-form posters and a series of mini-posters that highlight and promote the second issue of Cinema Scope. These posters serve as a keepsake for readers, and a way that the visual identity can extend outside of the magazine.

Apparel & Subscription Card
Cinema Scope is not just a magazine, it is a statement for readers about who they are and plays a role in their identity. Here are apparelware and tote bags that echo the logo and main identity. Apparel colors and type can change based on the most current issue adding a sense of exclusivity and uniqueness.

Website

This digital component adds an interactive layer to to the visual identity and aims to serve as a bridge between reading about a movie to actually watching it. It also serves an archival function, allowing the website to be a place readers can refer to to inform themselves about past movies that have been covered before.
